Shafiq Qaadri: As you will know, November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Today, more than nine million Canadians live with diabetes or pre-diabetes, a condition that, if left unchecked, puts more individuals at risk of developing the full diagnosis of type 2 diabetes. More than 20 people are diagnosed with the disease every hour of every day. In this province alone, 1.2 million Ontarians have been diagnosed with diabetes, and that number is expected to rise to two million by 2020.
